Exploring Colorado’s Icons: Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods If you ever find yourself near Colorado Springs, there’s no better duo to visit than Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods . They sit just miles apart but feel like two different worlds — one soaring into the clouds, the other glowing red beneath it. Our day trip between the two turned into one of those adventures that perfectly balances thrill, beauty, and calm. Getting There We started early from Colorado Springs , where both spots are practically in the city’s backyard. Garden of the Gods is only about 10 minutes from downtown, and the entrance is completely free . Pikes Peak sits just a short drive away through Manitou Springs , a quirky little town filled with art galleries and old soda springs — definitely worth a stop before you head up the mountain. If you’re visiting in summer, make sure to reserve your timed-entry pass for the Pikes Peak Highway ahead of time. The weather can be unpredictable, and the su...

A Guide to Rocky Mountain National Park

Exploring Rocky Mountain National Park: Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP) had always been on my bucket list, but nothing prepared me for the mix of rugged peaks, alpine lakes, and wildlife that greeted me once we finally stepped inside. The air was crisp and thin, streams echoed through valleys, and wildlife sightings made every stop feel like a private glimpse into the park’s untamed beauty. Over two full days, we explored trails, scenic roads, and tranquil lakes, and by the end, I understood why RMNP is one of America’s most beloved national parks.

A Guide to Big Bend National Park

Image
National Parks like Yosemite, Zion, and the Grand Canyon often take more attention, but there’s a quiet allure to the rugged beauty of Big Bend in West Texas. For me, it’s the vast, open landscapes, the peaceful solitude, and the magic of stargazing under some of the darkest skies you’ll ever experience. I’ve gone to the park on a 10-hour drive from Dallas, and the trip shows that Big Bend is worth every mile. Big Bend National Park Overview In the Southwest corner of Texas, Big Bend is larger than 800,000 square miles. It is the fourteenth biggest National Park in the U.S. It consists of three main regions: Rio Grande Village in the west, Castolon in the east, and Chisos Basin in the middle. It has only 440k annual visitors, which is far less than what we see in rankings of famous National Parks, this is truly underrated. Big Bend features deserts and mountain-to-river ecosystems that are very unique. Chisos Mountain Range : The heart of the park with stunning trails and viewpoints. R...
